During the community binding period. I got an exciting news, that is, as an intern, we can go to GUADEC.
The GUADEC, the GNOME Users And Developers European Conference, is an
annual conference taking place in Europe, whose prime topic is the
development of the GNOME desktop environment and its underlying base
software, such as GTK+, GStreamer, etc.
This is the news that my mentor told me, Jonathan Kang,
This year will be held at the University of Almeria in Spain. I am full of expectations for this meeting. What is even more exciting is that I can apply for sponsorship from the Foundation. The application has reached 1350$ enough to cover my travels.
I chatted with community members on irc, telegram and learned a lot about the community. This is very interesting.
During this one-month community bond, I felt that GNOME was deeply fascinating into the atmosphere. I participated in gnome-asia-2107 last year and started to be interested in the community. I didn’t expect this year to pass gsoc. Participating in the various activities of the gnome community and contributing your own code to the community is really a very interesting experience.
In the end, I am very grateful to my two mentor, Jonathan, David. They are very helpful to help me. Also very grateful to the gnome community! Hope to see you there.
